Job Description

Overview

The Slot & Capacity Planner is a member of the Production Planning Department within SR Technics Malta. They report directly to the Production Planning Manager. The Slot & Capacity Planner is responsible to ensure that sufficient hangar, workshops facilities and resource capacity are available and reserved in the slot plan and the capacity planning software tool for a given aircraft maintenance or modification event. In addition, the Slot & Capacity Planner closely supports the Sales and Commercial team to ensure on-time delivery of accurate work evaluations in response to customer RFPs.

Main Tasks

  • To promote a positive Safety Culture and to ensure the Safety and Quality Policy is communicated/promoted and implemented within the Organization.
  • To ensure that all elements of the SMS are properly implemented, maintained and continuously improved by fulfilling all SMS related duties and responsibilities as defined in SMS Manual.
  • Ensure adherence to slot and capacity planning processes and checklists.
  • Optimise the slot and capacity plan for both technical and commercial purposes.
  • Create and maintain the SR Technics Malta aircraft maintenance slot/parking plan and resource capacity plan/forecast.
  • Slot projects to ensure maximum hangar and resource utilisation.
  • Prepare and distribute the updated weekly slot plan and capacity forecast.
  • Chair the weekly Slot & Capacity Management meeting.
  • Highlight/escalate long-term planning issues such as slot conflicts or resource deficits/capacity issues.
  • Escalate to the Production Planning Manager and Accountable Manager where resource capacity falls by 25% during any calendar month.
  • Pro-actively identify and mitigate long term business risks, take advantage of opportunities.
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with all customer planning departments and contribute to customer meetings as required.
  • Contribute to internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and maintain overall project KPIs as per the KPI tracking tool. 
  • Work closely with the Sales, Commercial and Business Development team supporting RFPs with slot definition, on-time turnaround time (TAT) reviews and technical highlights.
  • Escalate issues and risks in a timely manner which are beyond their control to the relevant Senior Manager.
  • Engage in other duties and/or projects as may be assigned from time to time.

Position Key Accountabilities

  • Safety: Prevent inadvertent or hazardous operation leading to injury or loss of personnel or equipment.
  • Quality: Maintain compliance to the established approved standards and processes.
  • Delivery: Maintain slot & capacity plan, on-time support to RFPs and KPI tracking.
  • Cost: Ensure the correct man-hours and TAT are planned and liaise with Operations and Commercial to ensure any deviations are accounted for.
  • People: Be self-motivated and committed to professional development. Continuously look for improvement opportunities and take the lead in implementation (CI).
  • 5S: Manage and keep housekeeping of their assigned working area, office and desk

Position Key Requirements and Competencies

  • A minimum of 5 years’ planning experience working in an EASA Part 145 aircraft base maintenance organisation.
  • Possess project management skills and/or qualification.
  • Good Communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Fluency in English language.
  • Extensive knowledge of aviation regulations (EASA Part 145, Part 147, Part 66, Part 21, Part M).
  • Excellent Leadership and organisation skills.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • Excellent IT literacy.
